Dr Alan Doris, Psychiatrist

Alan graduated in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 1989. He proceeded to specialist training in psychiatry and has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 1996.  Alan has additional post-graduate qualifications in Medicine, Law and Business. He has held positions in research institutions and academia and published papers in the areas of Schizophrenia, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation and Legal Medicine. Alan holds the position of Senior Lecturer and Clinical Lead for Psychiatry at the Rural Clinical School, UNSW, in Coffs Harbour, and enjoys teaching the next generation of doctors.

 

Over the last twenty years Alan has held senior positions in public and private organisations in the UK, New Zealand and Australia acquiring considerable experience in all areas of adult psychiatric practice. He maintains an interest in the legal aspects of medicine and is listed as an assessor for the State Insurance Regulatory Authority. Alan has enjoyed living and working in beautiful Northern New South Wales since 2018.

Kerry Marden, CMHN

Kerry is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse Registered Nurse and a member of Australian College of Mental Health Nurses with extensive experience specialising in mental health and rehabilitation. Kerry works closely with Psychiatrists and GP’s in treating patients with complex and chronic mental health illness, especially those patients whose illness has impacted on their social, personal and work life. Kerry works with patients, using a collaborative, supportive and motivational approach to provide a coordinated approach to clinical care with goal of improving patient’s mental health and wellbeing. 

 

Kerry has also worked as a senior Nursing Administrator in the Private sector and non-for-profit sectors and as a Clinical Associate Lecturer, University of Sydney. Kerry has had involvement working with consumer groups within healthcare organisations and worked within public sector consulting to mental health units nationally and worked as an ACHS Surveyor and trained ISO healthcare auditor.
